Earphone, thank you for your interventions! Being almost the only Swiss person in here can sometimes be difficult, especially with those who live with outdated and ridiculous preconceptions. In the last twenty years, half of Europe has come here to get high on heroin (Platzspitz Zurich), to attend acid raves (you have well described why it was possible), to buy and smoke hemp on the street (the case of the hemp users from 5 years ago), and more. Swiss legislation has been quite broad in these cases; it was only when neighboring governments started to cause trouble, with economic blackmail and other measures (Fini for example, with the hemp issue), that they had to tighten the regulations. To believe even today that Switzerland is narrow-minded and obtuse is not only ridiculous but also sad. Ignorance is truly a nasty weed to uproot. (sorry Enea)

I read it in installments last night... too bad it's too late to add the soundtrack. Long-winded, yes, but as always, Stefano, it flows smoothly :-) the description of the father, the little girl, the gunshot is spot on. (I just discovered that no one has ever reviewed Envy, but is that possible?). An album I didn't really make my own as you describe, but listened to for years (in small doses). One of the essentials of the new millennium? In the meantime, I'll keep it close for my grandchildren.

Agree on the true disco, and you confirm that goa rave is for Ibiza style guys who want to be "wild" :-) I was asking because q.v. records, people my age, notoriously wealthy with a lot of free time and plenty of stuff in their veins, used to come buy things like Orbital, to "play them at the goa rave we’re having in the woods on Saturday." I've never been to these little parties given the characters. That's exactly what I was asking. (hi fuck)

I still don't understand: I associate the Orbital with Goa raves, but what does rave mean? Is it a genre or a way to gather? (I'm asking). And Goa? psy, goa, trance, goa trance, psycho trance... it's a genre, right? The Orbital fits in with Goa. I'm asking because around here, they say rave for everything: techno, goa, house, tarantella, as long as it's organized at the last minute and "illegally." Please enlighten me, I've never understood this.
