But why place Battisti between Bowie and Depeche? What the hell does that have to do with it? Why put Battisti in an international context?? In Italy, all, but really all music has always been a step behind when compared to international music! And to call Battisti an innovator is fine as long as we're talking about his little garden (the melodic song), but then that's where it ends, huh? The departure has always been "the song," and if he musically deviated from the tracks, it was only to give himself a different connotation from, I don’t know, Mina or Morandi. I mean, are we serious? And he wasn’t the first to embrace certain sounds! Before him, Faust'O, Garbo, Moda, etc. the Italian new wave, already Krisma, and how many others! Well, an idolizing review (even if negative).

Look, the review will stir debate among purists; some will say you can't judge an album based solely on one person's perspective, blah blah blah. But I give you five stars for daring to talk about walks (in which I totally see myself, but I've never told anyone because they'd think I'm a heretic some, crazy others) and for your openness to these sounds without too many mental_intello drivel. A default five for the madman from Winnipeg because I a-do-re him; he's too much. This man has a brain— the chemistry firing off in his neurons has produced sparks! I've never dared to say it, but I prefer him to many others. I don’t know, he feels more genuine, more of a rogue, more of a bastard, but also with more heart. The genre: among others, we're mainly talking about breakcore here. I sent you an email, Hugoniot.
