I remember them well, it was the time of the double act Edoardo vs. Eugenio, the catchy songs and tradition, I liked both of them a lot. Also the De Sio, one a 'modern' actress and the other a 'traditional' singer, was a nice pair (if I'm not mistaken, Teresa De Sio - not our Teresa - has often collaborated with the NCCP...) nice review Deep. Uh, when I was a kid, I read all of Wilbur Smith's books… but today I couldn't do it anymore. I read that this author died of a heart attack right after delivering three manuscripts (three at once! It seems that has never happened before) to the publishing house. He was an active journalist against Swedish fascism, collaborating with an antifa magazine. I read in a review that in Sweden this fact significantly contributed to his success because there's a conspiratorial idea that he was actually murdered. (On the other hand, I read that he smoked three packs of cigarettes and drank liters of coffee, and almost never slept). Ciaooooo.

I wanted to ask two questions: Bartle, when you say it's badly written, what do you mean exactly? The structure? The rhythm? The language? Faletti style? Then: if I went directly to the second book, would I miss something? Anyway, there aren't any old detectives like the good old Harry Bosch anymore.
