Great tribute, Giola, but come on, Fiona Apple, Carole King, Amos and Mitchell have honored Nyro with their art :) she had a wonderful voice, "flexible" is a perfect description.

Beautiful review, Flo. I've seen him live a couple of times, and it's always goosebumps. If he says it's his best tour... oh my goodness. :) (what a man.)

Here you go, here's the link. "All along this life there were the signs/ we've waited for days/ we've wasted for days/ Well what else were you waiting for?/ No you can't stop the day/ and you can't stop the night/ it's a far off dream." Beautiful.

The Coens, broadly speaking, are like Woody Allen to me; films of great cinema alongside films of good entertainment. Bulimic, but fortunately with the gift of bringing out the best in actors. I don't know why, but I love Fargo (yes, I do know why), and then A Serious Man. In Barton Fink, Turturro is remarkable. No Country for Old Men is a great book; they just did their homework really well. The Big Lebowski, I confess that when it came out in theaters, I fell asleep, and it never occurred to me to watch it again. For years I've lived with this doubt: do I really need to see it? I'll watch this one; I have a weakness for Yiddish stories. ... Fiquata, can you tell me the name of the German in my ear? As for your friend's name, there's no need. :)

a nice southern record, when I was selling records it was one of those good ones to hand off to those who didn't know what to pick, and you made a good impression :) them and the black crowes.
