Do you know "dear drug"? Just to give an example. Guccini doesn’t show off, but it’s not a matter of preciousness, as I said, but of social commitment, first and foremost. And sometimes, actually often, the good Guccio is loquacious; I can’t stand it. He doesn’t show off, but he rambles too much, in my opinion. I prefer the intellectual wankery of Battiato (in fact, I can hardly tolerate a serious piece like "Povera patria" by Franco). The issue of "showing off" specifically came up because of the phrase "And to tell the truth, even presumption doesn't pay. Quite the opposite.", but that was more related to Simone than to demonstrating the bennatian thesis. And note: in bold was the previous sentence about social commitment, not this one ;)
