The texts are conventional as well: correct but always centered around those 4-5 key words that never really shift the focal point of thought: angel, pain, breath, suffer, feet, etc.

...ah, these Depeche derivatives! :) Here’s my take: ege is right. An overrated phenomenon. After all, it is true that Gore and company managed to forge a type of techno pop "for everyone" like no other artist, but the result is often very conventional, and the group's peculiarity ultimately lies in the massification of the musical product, nothing more. They have capitalized on the commerciality of their music to the point of exhaustion, without fully exploiting the potential revealed in tracks like "Personal Jesus," "Black Celebration," "In Your Room," where they showed they could do something beyond ordinary pop songs. They have settled for their flattening, without going overboard. "Music for the Masses" was a half-failure: the album has highs and lows that do not justify its grandiose presentation, it was controversial because it was never clear how much the Depeche had played on the title, how much was self-critique. Nevertheless, they remain a group of good quality: from Some Great Reward to Songs of Faith and Devotion, all are good albums. Not great, but good. And this latest one isn’t recycled, which is an achievement after 12 years since the last great album.

Great live, a "deeply felt" and personal review. In the comments to the meeting, I have already written which arrangements I liked and which I didn't. The acoustics on the lawn were good, Gahan wasn't at his best and the repertoire was nonetheless thoroughly explored: two hours of concert was sufficient in my view. The ticket price was indeed remarkable. A 4 for trust, it would have been a 5 if the Depeche Mode had treated us to Policy of Truth, mysteriously absent from the setlists for a few months now. Then the encore, in my opinion, could have been richer: some hesitation about the revival of Photographic - which remains a rather flimsy little song -, reservations about the re-proposing of Shake The Disease (Gore sings one more piece? Well, then I would have preferred Question of Lust or Blue Dress), few certainties about the impact of Never Let Me Down to close the concert.

I find the review perfect, absolutely free of grammatical errors that I usually don't make... you're free to think whatever you want. I've counted many human cases, about twenty or so, quite a few... I'm pleased to know I'm in good company... So come on guys, I'm going to live my life. BYE TO ALL!
