overrated album, actually too monotonous.

A truly beautiful album. Colin Meloy reaffirms himself as a great songwriter, original and full of insights. The album grows with each listen. One of the best of the year along with Dylan, Black, and Arthur.

The only thing I can say is that Modern Times is a great album, it's an album full of charm, intense, 10 strong songs; if Dylan wanted to make a record with a beautiful sound, with perfect solos, he would do it. The beauty of this, however, is that Dylan doesn't care about embellishments and tricks, he presents you with 10 songs and throws them in your face, and they are disarming in their nakedness, in their sincerity; they are true, they are real, in the face of modern times.
