Zucchero has become a caricature of himself. He's been singing the same song for 15 years. Moreover, he gives off a strong vibe of being unkempt. And he's always a bit sweaty.

A thank you to those who attended, even if they might not have listened to the album and will have to make up for it here. I understand that my nickname might be misleading, but in 1982 I had my maturity, so I am much more of a "kid" than some might mistakenly think.

But these are not attempts at "explanation." Music is an emotion, and not everyone perceives it in the same way. Otherwise, everyone would like the same things, don’t you think? Just like a painting, a film, a poem, a flower, a scent, and so on. They are sources of emotion. It is up to us to grasp what makes our soul vibrate. A matter of tastes and emotions, indeed.

After "Under The Table and Dreaming," I honestly expected something more. They say that Dave Matthews' songs are technically complicated and extremely difficult to sing; that may be true, but I personally don't like it, and it's a matter of personal taste. I would still like to know how the editors classify the reviews in the two columns. Is it random or based on preferences?

Perhaps you were a bit too harsh. Let's say it's a good album but it sounds a bit by the numbers. It seems like they did the homework and that feels like the biggest flaw. I'll give it three and a half stars rounded up to 4.
Tori Amos Boys For Pele

I only own Tori Amos's debut, which is quite enjoyable. I later heard "Under The Pink" and I remember being a bit disappointed. That’s where I stopped, thinking she was just one of those many shooting stars. I continued to read mixed reviews but my desire to explore further always dwindled. While browsing the site, I find positive reviews. I think I’ll make up for it both with this reviewed one and with "From The Choirgirl Hotel."

I wrote this review too, and seeing that you labeled it as "dance" makes me question whether you really listened to this album. The only "dance" track is Missing remixed by Todd Terry. Is anyone who comments really sure they have listened to this CD?

Spirit of Eden was a groundbreaking album that marked a break with the past. The signs had already started to show in The Colour of Spring, but it was with their subsequent work that they closed the gilded commercial bridges to embark on a sadly brief, committed path. It's obvious that previous fans turned their backs on them, but the album left its mark. The following Laughing Stock followed in its footsteps. For many, it was even superior. I believe that second works similar to the first rarely manage to build upon what has already been accomplished. To me, it’s a copy. An excellent copy, but essentially it repeats the stylistic elements and adds nothing new, nor takes anything away. After the band split, Mark Hollis engages in this work that delves even deeper in that direction. He closes himself off even more, and the resulting album is truly claustrophobic. I reiterate that it's not bad, but it's more or less a cult album. That is, for fans and such. I still regret that he has definitively vanished from the scene. Sometimes the minds of musicians are truly strange.

Finally, a review of a new band! A real breath of fresh air.
