Well, I know BJ very well... I have a "friend" who's a year younger (now 23) who always imposed him on me... and today ALLY MCBEAL imposes him on me too, so I can appreciate his sadness even as an actor! Anyway, if it helps you feel better, today I’m being subjected to Tiziano Ferro and I almost miss the old (but still in great form, permed and toned!) Giovanni! But what am I doing?? Am I responding like the others?? P.S. You can express your (unfortunate) opinions without wishing me to pass on to a better life or speaking disparagingly about "truzzi" only to make me think that you're the first one, given the MINCHIE, CAZZI, and MERDE that fill your crude language (which, by the way, only fuels my suspicions about the followers of the permed one!)

Did I read that right? "They have a great personality"... but who? Where? In mimicking anyone from the 70s (not supported by any talent, mind you) do we find personality?

The issue is just one... as they've already told you. You're really someone with quite a few biases, so you wouldn't give Oasis a 5 even if they made the album of the century...

Well.. I've seen six given to students who, if the same essay had been written by a genius, would have gotten a 2.. which school did you go to? The example doesn't seem to support your thesis, on the contrary..

but those aren't fitting comparisons.. neither with Astral Weeks nor with Radiohead... it’s like comparing Massive Attack to The Strokes or Interpol to DJ Francesco.. I gave it a 4, but that refers to a specific historical moment in music, in Britpop, in my life at the age I was, and how much it weighed on me and the previous generation at that time... then it’s clear that if I compare everything to everything, the Oasis artistically deserve a 2 or even a 1.. but if when judging an album I always use Marquee Moon as a benchmark (just to say) when do I give it a 5? once every 15 years? Let’s try a genre comparison (Britpop).. maybe with Starsailor! (just to say..)

For those who were teenagers in '95, this is an important album, nothing compared to the relatively unknown Libertines of today. It doesn't matter that it's commercial, that they are a caricature of others, that the Blur, always compared to them, have long since proven to be superior... at that moment they created a brilliantly played record, with songs that everyone knows, still sings today, and occasionally enjoys listening to. Whether you like it or not, that era is marked by "Wonderwall" and its companions more than any other song.

I was wondering why there wasn’t a review of all this.. they are derivatives, yes, but they come from something good and they derive well..

Is it important to have a myth? Nice life philosophy... so in the next album, he just makes burps and farts... you'll buy it anyway, because HE'S TOO MUCH MY MYTH!! For josi_: you can't recommend Low to these people... they wouldn't even understand 1% of what they do... not even the latest one...
