Kasabian Kasabian

In fact, this insistence seems out of place to me.. Damaskinos is right.. the Arcade Fire are the most derivative band in this world.. and so what?? They made an extraordinary album.. sure, it's not like the Kasabian did the same, but there are some really well-crafted tracks as well, a decent album; the chatter about originality isn't particularly original..

I don't know if Jovanotti is experimental.. but your Italian certainly is! Annihilation??? Stop showing off..

The fact remains that there are some forced comparisons... as I've already read from others, I really don’t see the Interpol in the Kasabian... and the usual comparison of the latter with Joy Division as well... the only thing that is very similar, if not the same, is the tone of the voice.

To me, frankly, they seem like much less inspired kings of convenience, much less stylish, much less skilled in terms of voice, melody, guitar...

And in this specific case, Gorillaz have done a good job. If you listen to it without any major biases, I believe you'll agree. Of course, it’s not a 5, it’s not a masterpiece. However, "kids with guns", "Feel Good Inc", "El Maana", "Dare", the last two tracks, are all pieces of remarkable craftsmanship that span across various genres. I assure you that labeling this as a pop work feels limiting. Then there’s personal taste, but I find many of your comments in the other review to be quite exaggerated and unjustified. Cheers.

And that good Damon is still great; then we should see how you approach some healthy pop, considering that many detest it a priori. And how do you face people who, willingly or not, are successful, and therefore become MTV material? In my opinion, not everything that is pop is to be thrown away. If about 90% of the stuff on MTV is actually crap, it doesn’t mean there isn't also something that manages to have cross-appeal and be a good product. I'm talking about Radiohead, for example, Beck, Coldplay, etc.

look alexander, there are various degrees of experimentation.. and 13, while it may not be a revolution, certainly deserves to be considered experimental. That said, we should understand whether for you quality is measured by the ability to experiment or not.. it’s all very subjective. However, I believe it can almost objectively be said that Blur were one of the best pop groups of the 90s, and even beyond, considering Think Tank.

And then pieces like coffee and (M)tv... that will probably make you cringe... but I really like them a lot... regardless of your issues with the aforementioned...
