Big Brother & The Holding Company feat. Janis Joplin Cheap Thrills
Voto:
I don't give 5 to the reviewer because he didn't say a word about the cover. For me, one of the most beautiful, since I was a child. A wonderful album, songs more beautiful than the others. La negra bianca...
Il Balletto Di Bronzo Sirio 2222
Voto:
I prefer Sirio to YS. Of course, they're two very different things, but the Title Track, especially the beginning, is among the most beautiful pieces by the Neapolitan group!
I Tipi Oggi sono tanto triste/La ragazza bruttina (singolo 1967)
Voto:
It is commendable that with your review it is hoped that a sort of ongoing forum can open up about all those 45s from the late 60s to the early 70s that are now completely forgotten by our horrible commercial FM stations, yet can be found on the Internet, available for free to anyone who wants to download them... Copyrights on artists like these or others that are almost impossible to find even among collectors are just laughable...
Franco Battiato Mondi Lontanissimi
Voto:
Zephir's comment is somewhat correct. However, the Nozionismo (since that's what it's about in Battiato, in my opinion), when placed alongside beautiful passages of violin and orchestra, results in a blend that can be enjoyable and even a lot. The drama lies with other Cantautorissimi who, with daring operations, manage to produce something that can barely compete, I’m about to say, with the Genovese minestrone...
Guided By Voices Earthquake Glue
Voto:
I don't know any other songs by Questi aside from On Short Waves (well... in my case, the title says it all :-))). However, listening to it immediately felt like an UFO, excruciating like a knife stabbed in the kidneys, vaguely resembling 'Del Mondo' by CSI.
Too beautiful.
Francesco Guccini L'isola non trovata
Voto:
One of the most listened-to LPs of my youth. Discovered in 1988, initially very skeptical (I was 20 years old and had no university education...), then literally worn out from playing it every single day...
Grand Funk Railroad Closer To Home
Voto:
One of the most evocative LP covers from my childhood: the cannibals of Grand Funk Railroad Survival!!! squatting and munching on raw meat!!!
Less famous??? Well, maybe...
Speaking of covers, what about another 33 RPM cover that reminds me of my early childhood... one from Uriah Heep, the one with the man with his mouth full of cobwebs...
genius...
But a 45 RPM cover from the early '70s terrified me to the point of keeping me awake at night; unfortunately, I don’t know the title: a man's head inside a lightbulb, the song started with a horrifying siren at full volume... an English record, I believe...
Goblin Zombi - The Complete Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

When will there be a Rece on the beautiful Journey of Bagarozzo Mark (this is not a joke...)
Ricky Gianco "Alla mia mam..."
Voto:
In May 1988, I heard a very tense, 'symptomatic' song on RAI FM that was talking about 'certain friends in Busto Arsizio.' For a good 17 years, I wondered who the author of that song could be. It was Ricky Gianco. Splendidly.
Rino Gaetano Nuntereggae più
Voto:
The Sacred Monsters kind of get on my nerves. De' Andrè was a Great, but before him there were the French. There was Georges Brassens... No, heaven forbid, I should ever think that De' Andrè's style was copied from the Gauls, but sometimes... Guccini, perhaps a bit more self-deprecating. Rino Gaetano, on the other hand, might just be the tall, lanky kid sitting next to you in high school who plays the guitar like it’s an eggplant. He would dedicate a funny little song (but genius) even to someone who throws crap on his grave... ---too human---
