Le Orme Storia O Leggenda

An LP to reconsider, certainly 100,000 times better than the disastrous 'Smogmagica' (excluding the gem Amico di Ieri).
Melancholic? Maybe, but that’s not a flaw.
If only there were more things like this nowadays, but I don’t see any on the horizon...

I only know the album Strange Brew, and I really loved perhaps the least flashy track of the LP: World of Pain, with the wah-wah guitar, later covered by Lucio Battisti in Confusione. I don't judge the Compianto; in fact, I like Confusione a lot too. However, in World of Pain, what I like most is the drumming, played in a 'staccato' way (is that what it’s called?? Who knows, I'm not an expert).

I listened to (and fortunately recorded) the second half of Del mondo: surprising, warm and dirty, claustrophobic (almost like Gerontocrazia by Area). My sister loved the CCCP in the '80s, while I listened to other stuff; here, however, they really struck me. But I won't go deeper, I'm just content that every now and then that 'Familiar Flavor' flashes in my brain like a massage from a 50-year-old Fat Black woman with Sandpaper hands...

Great LP
Area is a group that's too demanding for casual or distracted listening.
I don't like people who say, "You should listen to this...you should listen to that...": you reach certain music gradually, or you encounter it randomly and fall in love.
I discovered Area (Gioia e Rivoluzione) as far back as 1986, from the RAI radio (Raistereonotte) where the DJ that night played: Gioia e rivoluzione, O cunto 'e Masaniello by Nuova Compagnia di Canto popolare and Campagna by Napoli Centrale... January 1986...
Since that day (actually, that night), many things in my musical tastes changed...
