What does this have to do with it? There are plenty of self-indulgent characters like him in the music world... so what about Maynard K.? Bono? M. Strype? (THE FIRST ONES THAT COME TO MIND!) Here we have a decent product with some nice tracks, from a 40-year-old man who (whether a junkie or not) has made an album that's less impactful than the previous ones but true to his style. At least that’s something to appreciate, what do you want to blame him for?

What did you expect? Evolutions? Manic search for new sounds? The eternal mystical Reznor striving for new soundscapes? 10 new Closers? Then your "strained disappointment" makes sense!
For those like me who wanted a NIN album, they've found it; I also thought about something a little more, but then why do I listen to it 3 times in a row??? Because it's an album that flows well. I’m sorry Josi, don’t take it the wrong way!
