I don't agree with everything you say (I have a weakness for dark ladies... what can I do) and I haven't listened to the album yet (but I might like it since every now and then I feel that itch for a vulgar rock n' roll band all Jack Daniels and groupies)... but one thing is certain, I had fun reading this review... here’s a solid 5 for you.

Lately, I’ve been rediscovering the albums of the consoli... and I've realized that this album (although very particular and outside her usual patterns) was somewhat of a misstep, perhaps necessary to reach the refined sounds of "l'eccezione." An evolution always has its moments of stagnation, but even those are useful.

You haven't understood anything! The guy/girl here is a genius! It's a stylistic choice: if you're writing about Coltrane, you have to use an elaborate language; if you're writing about crap music, you have to use a crappy syntax. That way, even if you praise the band with individual words, the message you send to the reader is that this is an album for fools. Simply genius TatteredAndTorn#0!
