The Good, the Bad and the Queen The Good, The Bad and The Queen

Great album and I mostly agree with Psychopompe, except for the final remark of his post. I definitely prefer snobs over sloppies, but honestly, I can't stand either of them. I also want to say that I have nothing against duplicates on deB, as long as they are not excessive and can be useful. I agree with your rating of the album, but just a comment on the other reviews would have sufficed, not another one. And I would like to propose a comparison: Albarn is to pop what Patton is to rock, what do you think?

But listen to Linton Kwesi, Dillinger, Black Uhuru, Augustus Pablo and then speak with knowledge of the facts. Otherwise, shut up shut up shut up shut up SHUT UP!!!

clap clap clap. I don't even need to respond: the ignorance, mental laziness, and artistic racism of your post speak for themselves.

Is reggae vomit? Your internal organs will be vomit. "I couldn't determine the value that this genre could have in music as a whole," sorry Dave, but are you racist? What does reggae have less than rock? And don't tell me the history, because reggae originated almost before rock 'n' roll if we consider ska and rocksteady. Not to mention the dub derivative: in the second half of the sixties, it competed just fine with all the Anglo-American psychedelia. Many reggae masterpieces have emerged, and I don’t even pretend to know them all, but you would do better to speak (to pass judgment) with more awareness. Even now, reggae is an important musical scene, a significant market share, and it's always astounding that 80% of its production comes from a little island not much bigger than Sicily.
