I don't know about the Gazzetta. But there are stories of Frank Castle that are truly amazing. Very dark, cynical, post-modern, funny, and serious all at once. Especially those by Warren Ellis and Dillon (his hyper-realistic style further enhances Ellis's ironic and irreverent outlook) are beautiful. And it's precisely from these stories that the film takes inspiration, which I truly believe I will never watch. As a fan, I always end up disappointed (with a few exceptions: 300, Burton's Batman, and a few Supermans).

Essentially... the proposal is beautiful, but the listening part is a bit lacking. Let's say it's a three and a half... but a four seems a bit much, maybe an encouragement would have been appropriate.
