Benigni really gets on my nerves. A terrible director and as a comedian, he can't make me smile even if my life depended on it (at least for the last fifteen years or so: during his partnership with Arbore he was maybe okay). Then he's a do-gooder to the point of exasperation, a hypocrite (how does he enjoy speaking out against his master Berlusconi?!) and a terrible reader of Dante's Comedy. I give a 1 to the character and consequently to everything he does. On the other hand, Punisher at his peak: one of the best critics of deB.

Come on, relax. You've definitely seen more movies, especially since I'd say you have more time behind you. For us youngsters, this movie seemed good, sure, not a masterpiece but entertaining: it keeps you engaged. Now we’re going to dig up Gloria (and thanks for the tip, last week I watched Volti-Faces by Cassavetes in the square in Bologna and I fell in love with it). But none of this gives you the right to treat us like idiots and certainly doesn't legitimize your superior tone: first of all, you come off looking bad and present yourselves as unpleasant people. Then I think no one wants to take advice from someone who, while giving it, doesn’t hold back on insults and jibes. Or maybe I’ll just stop following cinema: because if acquiring film culture turns you into people like you, well, I really don’t care for that at all.

On an album like this (a new record from a band that got back together for the occasion), it was to be expected. Honestly, it doesn’t bother me at all, and I would love to see one that expressed a different opinion. And then you all complain about duplicates, but you’re always ready to comment on them (including those written about Iron Maiden): meanwhile, so many great reviews are left practically empty, while the duplicates/triplicates/etc. are always full. How come? It seems like a nice hypocrisy to me.

Well, I was thinking about it last night that this album is a bit weak and clearly overrated. I even prefer Obscured By Clouds...

this is one of the few records that have come out recently that I want. I kind of stopped following new releases because I got lost among deB's reviews, but I was looking forward to this one. Canzoni Dell'Appartamento is a 5. The other one is a 3. And this? I want it... beautiful for Zair!!
