Queen A Night At The Opera

A somewhat immature review, but above all, too biased. Don’t get me wrong, I know all their songs by heart, and back in high school, I delved into them thoroughly, so I still have quite a strong emotional connection... in any case, I prefer Queen II for personal tastes: more prog, more elaborate, but perhaps less complete, unlike A Night At The Opera, where each track has its reason for being, representing the band's peak artistic maturity. For me, The Prophet's Song is even better than Bohemian Rhapsody, to be appreciated for its colossal execution, but too disconnected and forced to compete with Prophet's. A cornerstone of rock, I don't know, maybe for copies sold and media recognition, but in a historical context, I believe the cornerstones of rock are others... this doesn't diminish the value of this album at all, still lovely to listen to.

It doesn't seem to me that VDGG were so "unknown"... in Italy, as far as I know, they were certainly very well-known, perhaps less so in England, but that's how it is... this album is a true symbol of the entire genre, an essential masterpiece for any self-respecting rock fan.

Masterpiece. There are no other words to describe an album like this, nor the second one. Although, in my opinion, you should have spent more time on "The Dream," probably the most varied and unique track on the entire record. P.S.: our own Panna Fredda knew Gracious well, as they practically plagiarized the keyboard intro of Heaven to insert it into the song "Un Re senza reame." "Echo" also deserves mention, even if it is definitely longer, heavier, and more demanding.

A quartet that, in my opinion, needs to transform into a quintet: the Blue Oyster Cult also deserves an honorable mention among the greats of hard rock of the era. This album? Well, it wavers around a 3.5 out of 5, but I want to give it a 4 for energy and because I quite like Gypsy. Keep in mind that I discovered this band thanks to "Panna Fredda" and Museo Rosenbach, true fans of Uriah... the paradox of the Internet.

I don't know, the review is interesting, but it seems like you speak well of it and then give it a 3/5, which isn't exactly a positive rating.
Anyway, yes, from the sample it sounds like they're a bit chaotic, but they seem interesting.

An album to listen to in one go with ears wide open: a unique journey into madness.

Just because Torn Curtain is missing, this live deserves at least 2 votes less, regardless, without even having listened to it. I mean, really, a truly unfortunate choice. However, I still have to listen to it, I wasn't aware of a live album by Television.

Great review!!! But I’ll give you one point less for the rating... 3 is too low for this album in my opinion, maybe not the most original but a pretty impressive debut for a band like them... the masterpieces of the 4 will come from Queen II to A Night At The Opera, but this record already has two great balls.

The review is overly cryptic and explains almost nothing about the album... speaking of the album, I don't like the so-called "side A" at all, but the last two tracks are a different story, especially the last one, which is truly moving.
