Hi Zion, I "join" the discussion. In my opinion, you are only partially right regarding the fact that the pop here is opposed by many primarily for a psychological reason. There are many reviewers who find alternative to be their preferred genre but appreciate, as qz also mentioned, the intelligently played pop. Over the years, I have greatly appreciated some works by Daniele Silvestri, Grignani (let's say "Fabbrica," which isn’t really pop but still), and Samuele Bersani; these ones just don't convince me at all. Still, I keep reading reviews where the Negramaro are praised as the new Italian Radioheads. But has anyone who writes these reviews ever listened to Radiohead? Because if you refer to Pablo Honey, that’s fine, but then I too could have considered myself a member of the Italian Radiohead when I was playing guitar at sixteen with my band. Moving on, "The Negramaro play uncompromising rock" — here it seems like we’re already debating, but in any case, one can say that if the Negramaro's rock is uncompromising, I shudder to think how Area could have been labeled in the seventies.
