To you who are not convinced by Webster, watch the DVD of The Wretched Spawn. Before I saw it myself, I considered it a notch below DiGiorgio and Choy, the other two "greats" of heavy metal, but then it climbed up to complete the trinity. They do some impressive slap stuff between takes. Malone would be the other great, but I didn't include him because he's basically a jazz musician, and if you have to consider all jazz musicians, then Webster, DiGiorgio, and Choy, maybe even Malone, wouldn't even make the top ten.

THAT'S CALLED PLAYING LIVE, AND UNFORTUNATELY, ALONG WITH ALCOHOL AND DRUGS, IT'S A HABIT THAT'S HARD TO BREAK FOR MUSICIANS. Rearranging is a normal thing; even I, with my far less famous metal bands, rearrange at least a bit of the songs for live shows. Then the idea of the orchestra was a nice idea, in my opinion, COVERS OF THEIR OWN SONGS!! Are we joking here? Have you had a drink?

Reda, speak when you know what you're talking about, instead of repeating bullshit you hear on MTV specials about Metallica, "he followed the guitar, he followed the drums." I like Newsted, but he’s much less of a “bassist” than Burton, who, as you rightly noted, based his lines on the rhythmic pattern of the drums AS A BASSIST SHOULD, the fact that Newsted follows the guitar more (which is true until noon) is mainly due to the fact that, at least for now, there aren’t two musicians with the same style, way of playing, and feeling for music, and this definitely has nothing to do with the "turning point" (read: "decline") of Metallica. If you base the quality of a band on sold records, you haven’t understood a damn thing about the music business.
