I quote G_à for life... there are indeed a few too many tracks, but it's still material that would make the fortune of many current overhyped rock bands.

THE samples are GREAT!! I really think I will invest these €11 (including shipping costs?).

that think and have feelings for you.
They love you and not me,
like the absent they regret you.
The things extend you..."

The musicality of a verse, for some authors, can hold greater value than its meaning, as you well know, Sylvian. Panella is someone who knows how to play with words, with the signifiers. But on certain occasions, within the album in question, even the meaning, well hidden beneath apparent nonsense, is revealed.

"I went nowhere
I thought of you for nothing
and I sent you nothing
for my memory
I leaned at the edge
of beautiful abysses
On a sweet ennui on a deckchair
I ignored love
instead I skirted
the seashores
I felt light. You were carefree
I felt light, and your strange
head rolled away..."
Panella-Battisti could have been a great duo: irony, nonsense, fantasy, quality pop music... what a shame!

In another review of Battisti, I have already expressed my enthusiastic views on this work, surely the most successful of the post-Mogol era. I am glad to see that among Lucio's fans, there are also admirers of some works from the second phase of his career, which my friends have so much vilified.

It seems to me that we're on the same wavelength. Why the anonymity? There's nothing to be ashamed of, quite the opposite. I will defend you to the hilt. :-)
Franco Battiato Clic

I wouldn't be as categorical as the good Sylvian, but Battiato, both the experimental version from the past and the current one, has never really appealed to me. It's a gut feeling, I won't deny it, but that's how it is. Anyway, if I really have to listen to one of his albums, I prefer "La voce del padrone."

Well, I’ll preface by saying that Italian alternative rock has never really convinced me (I like the early Litfiba, "17 Re," Diaframma, I'm digressing...), but watching this barrage, this sort of execution, makes me want to embrace the lost cause, especially since Greg Dulli (is he the one from Afghan Wings?) has always seemed to me like a decent guy. I need to hear him first, though; otherwise, Socrate(s) would turn into a sophist. :-)
