Well, let's say that for me the album is worth a 4: don't you think it would be impossible, given the reviewer's premises, for me to give a good rating to their analysis? I'm just saying that the more I read some of the review's considerations, the less convinced I am. But I, while waiting to listen to the album, suspend my judgment. Could it be that he is right, despite the premises?

The review is, for me, unjustifiable, too tied to the quality of the work in question (it could be a 5 or a 1, in my opinion), and I'm a bit surprised by all these 5s without having listened, by your own admission, to even a note of the album, "a prescindere," as the great Totò would say. However, one thing I can say: if for you all the bands you mention are interchangeable and indistinguishable, we have a profoundly different concept of song and melody. I gladly leave you to await your "cavalli di ritorno"...

ā€œThe message in a bottleā€ has finally reached the right beach. Hello, Danny, and come back confidently to visit us: who knows, you might find in the future the review of ā€œSteve McQueenā€ by Prefab Sprout... ;-)

For reasons of nostalgia that I mentioned in the other review and also because at that time Edoardo was a true singer-songwriter, I’m giving it my all.

I bought it back then and I must say it's damn relevant. The proof, if there was ever a need for it, that dance and pop, at certain levels, are in the Empyrean.

I thought I was the only one who owned this CD: the review reflects my opinion.

I no longer receive any notifications, so I read only after Hal, Logic, and Kosmo have already shared their opinions, which I agree with. For me, it's an album that has to divide, that cannot leave anyone indifferent, but I, unlike the reviewer, consider it "epochal". Kudos, in any case, for the boldness.

Even "La Torre di Babele" is one of the best Italian albums of the time, alongside "Buffalo Bill" by De Gregori.

I completely agree with Kosmo about Bennato (I would add "Sono solo canzonette" to the must-haves), even though I'm a bigger fan of Gaetano than of Vecchioni.
I must add that in the years when this album was released, in Bagnoli, amidst the smoke from the chimneys of Italsider, a nine-year-old boy often saw the Bennato brothers (Eugenio was also there), but didn't yet know who they were. To him, they were just some local musician neighbors.
