The single is one of the best things you hear on the radio, but I'm not familiar with the album in question. The previous one wasn't bad.

"South, south we are from the south, and we are short and dark / we are good for eating and we work hard to earn a living..." A shoutout in the next review to the first one who recognizes the song. :-)

I agree a bit with everyone, especially with Grass and Enea: this Pino Daniele should be rediscovered.

Great. I couldn't have said it better myself. Who knows, maybe amidst the chaos I'm in, I can write something about "1999" or "Purple Rain."

But look at which album you managed to dig out. As soon as the CD was released, I bought it. I had my eye on it too, but I was sure they had fallen into oblivion. I would like to give it a 5 to repay them, but 4 is the fairest score. P.S. I would appreciate it if you could occasionally focus on some of my reviews.

Absolutely agree on the additional names, and also on Prince: "Sign O'..." is a top ten album of the decade, but there are also "Purple Rain," "1999." I've been wanting to write a review on what I consider one of the most representative artists of Black music in the '80s for a long time. I would start like this: "A specter is haunting European pop, that of Prince...", but I have a feeling I've read something similar before...:-) I also share the opinion that rap in recent years has excelled when it has found formulas open to other contiguous genres; I'm thinking of a certain acid jazz, for example, or Massive Attack, or Tricky.

I remember that in Sanremo I was rooting for Garbo ("Radioclima", if I recall correctly) who, of course, was mistreated. Those were the days of my new wave phase, so some artists had a "privileged lane," but Garbo proved to be more than just a simple epigone.

I share the negative ethical-aesthetic judgment of odradek on much of the current rap, but I am sure we would all be ready to turn a blind eye if albums like those of De La Soul or A Tribe Called Quest came out: this is the real problem.
But I don’t want to evade the direct question and I’ll answer without reflecting too much. I would say Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, Lauryn Hill, NERD, Trina Broussard, Cody ChesnuTT, Roots, the "pale face" Remy Shand, but even the aforementioned D'Angelo is not bad. These are the first names coming to mind while staying within the narrow meaning of the term "black" mentioned above.
Ah, better to say it right away: I am a fan of Prince.
