Badly Drawn Boy Born In The Uk

I hoped someone would go before me, to avoid grappling with this uneven task. Let’s be clear: I am a well-known addict to that sugary substance called "song." The "boy" being referred to is not only a capable dealer but also a "chemist" who knows his craft. This time, the doses might not be calibrated as well as they have been in the past; there's a bit of exaggeration and some concessions to the mainstream, but there are always those 3 or 4 tracks that ensnare you, that lead you to continue with the reproachable vice. 3.5 and amen.

Dearest Pacino, you always manage to resurface where I least expect it, like the other time with the World Party. I’m glad the first hints have confirmed what I thought was good about this southern band. And I had prepared some bait reviews to lure you back, like the one for Ed Motta. By the way, the gigantic Brazilian singer-songwriter, whom I contacted through MySpace, showed that he appreciated the review I linked to him (a terrible term for which we need to find a synonym…).

Here I am. I believe you can imagine that I like the album. For me, Grant Lee is perhaps more inspired here. I just recently bought it again on eBay.

I had already read something, but I wasn't convinced. Now you're making me look for it.

Thanks also to the other friends for the trust you've given me. Anyway, make a little effort and give it a chance: the "seeds of doubt" could bear excellent fruit. @ Tar, you also like to tease, as they say in Naples, the "mazzarella." ;-) Speaking of what you said about the relationship between "kalós" and "agathós," let me post what a great poet, too soon forgotten, J. Brodsky, said: "Every new aesthetic reality redefines the ethical reality of man. Since aesthetics is the mother of ethics. The categories of good and evil are, first and foremost, aesthetic categories that precede the categories of right and wrong... The little child who cries and rejects the stranger who, on the contrary, tries to caress him, acts instinctively and makes an aesthetic choice, not a moral one." (Nobel lecture, in "From Exile," published by Adelphi). Let's reflect.

Wow! This record wasn’t out yet. I echo Fosca, and as for "Adventure," I was there.
("'All hands on deck, / we've run afloat!' I heard the captain cry / 'Explore the ship, replace the cook: let no one leave alive!...")

I won’t hide from you that, while I don’t question the value of the singer-songwriter, he has never really captured me. I've given him more than one chance, but his CDs rarely make it into my player. I will listen to him, though, especially because you say he's different from his previous works.

Thanks to everyone, even to the strict one, but it’s good that you are, Kid. ;-) @ donj, I had promised myself to share my thoughts on the Grants, but then it slipped my mind: I’ll try to make up for it. @ Architetto, stop being so funny, unless you want me to have a word with Santippe about those works. :-) @ Sylvian, it's true, I often find myself talking about bands from the other hemisphere and I won’t hide the fact that those lands have a certain charm for me; however, for the band in question, discovering their origin came after the love at first sight. I can only add that "Doubt Seeds" will rank very high on my personal top of 2006.
