Money Mark Change Is Coming
Voto:
Money Mark, Money Mark... I'm here! Compilation benefit to fight AIDS: that's where I saw the name days ago. All tracks by Jobim revisited by artists from various backgrounds. Mark plays the very first one, "Use Your Head." Mo'Wax is a commendable label. Hi, Odra. I'll stop by your other "places" these days.

If I didn't have 10 minutes a day for writing, I would have tried to express my thoughts on "Youth" as well. I agree with the rating for the album, but not completely with the approach of the review, which somewhat mirrors that of many glossy magazines and/or "specialized" ones. A quick judgment would suggest that the fact an Orthodox Jew sings reggae or reggamuffin brilliantly, combining Yiddish with English, should be astonishing. However, upon reflection, the messianic charge of reggae, particularly that of Bob Marley, with its religious, mystical, and political significance, fits perfectly with Matisyahu's cultural and expressive needs. And if we also think about the surprising similarities between rasta hairstyles and those of Orthodox Jews... ;-) In any case, it's an album that, despite having a few dips in tone, works.

Thank you for the recommendation. I bought "Motherland" and it is truly top-notch. The 45-second introduction is more than enough to understand that we are facing a superstar.

Hal, always in top form and an album to listen to. How did "my" Eric Matthews behave? He has a sensitivity quite similar to poor Elliott.
Billy Joel Glass Houses

Ringo, have fun for me! I really like Billy Joel from the trio, and "All for Leyna" is definitely a great song. I’d give the album a solid 4.

You ask it in a way... would it be serious? ;-)
Amandine This Is Where Our Hearts Collide

Let’s see… Travis, Divine Comedy, Angil: they are more than enough to give these Amandine ā€œa possibility.ā€ I’d like to write a review in this synthetic style one of these days, but I think I would only receive a lot of insults.

So many interesting observations! So many "amarcords" to share! We could really use Hal with his proverbial precision to respond to all of you as you deserve. Being, as I have revealed by now, much more anarchic, I will go on a whim, also taken, as I am, by Ungaretti’s lyricism that has left many, including ā€œmine,ā€ with a nose in the air. The '90s, when this album was released, was fundamental for me. I won’t bore you with details of my private life, which could be as interesting as a show hosted by Marzullo, but that year was a watershed moment for me. A part of me was, let's say, sublimated during that period, but it hasn’t disappeared (how could it?). You can’t live in a single dimension; you have to make space, every now and then, for this "collective" that we happen to be. Isn’t that right, Nick? ;-) Thank you all, not so much for the "5," but for the feelings of esteem and affection, surely reciprocated, that I feel coming from many of your comments.
Stadio Canzoni Per Parrucchiere Live Tour

Curreri's voice gets on my nerves, and the last tracks I've listened to seem quite soporific and indistinguishable. But I don't want to make hasty judgments about an album I've listened to very partially.
