The La's The La's

I agree, you say little. The La's are a great band that anticipated by years what would later be called Britpop. "Baggy" was redefined by this movement of new bands from the early nineties, among which I also remember the Ride.

I saw them perform in Belgium in 2001 and I really enjoyed it. I agree that the little voice can get tiresome after a while, but this album remains a masterpiece, at least for me.

In fact, this really struck me as well, today when I reread all the reviews of the Cranes on deB. I think the influence of Curtis and company is quite evident on this record; a couple of kick drum sounds seem exactly the same to me. As for "forever," I don't know, I should listen to it again; I have it on cassette, can you believe that?

wings of joy is a classic, but this one has its reason, too. try to listen...

In fact, that part is not very clear; it's easy to get lost in overly long sentences. For example, I didn't understand what the DAF have to do with the discussion. Rather, I've never heard of the z'ev! I'm going to look them up and then I’ll be back. Bye.

I recently listened to it again, definitely a well-produced album with nice songs but not very varied. The Future Pop genre is filled with many other interesting bands, but unfortunately, many of them don’t inspire me to write reviews today. However, you keep digging up stuff. Bye.

Guit: Of course it's interesting to find Apoptygma among the metal bands in your other reviews :)
Depeche Mode Martyr

Interesting, but I prefer the other B-sides of the angel; the production is nice, but Martin's guitar riff gives me a recycled feeling, and the lyrics don't seem to be that great either. But then again, if it was left out of the album, there must be a reason for it.
