I congratulate you, Mr. Sfascia (what's with this James Bond vocabulary? Anyway!). Let's put aside the "you" that doesn't fit this medium we're using. Yes, you assume correctly, I also love, adore (but don’t idolize) Kraftwerk; just read my comments and reviews (including the one by a certain Karl Bartos). Here, we all express opinions and I respect yours just as I do those of anyone else, but clearly if I disagree, I'll explain why. I advise you to stop using that condescending tone that marks your contributions to this review. You're being rhetorical and in some cases, you talk too much: "unjustified absence" — who are you to speak of unjustified absence, are you perhaps EMI? Then you mention Expo 2000 and refer to a track that's recordable and performable by anyone, but anyone who? You, by chance? People you know? Then sorry, but you’re contradicting yourself: you lament the absence of Karl Bartos and the times and sounds that were, while simultaneously criticizing him for continuing to make the same music he's always made; it's a paradox. Explain yourself better because these comments of yours seem useless and inconclusive, which is a shame since you seem to be someone who gets it and listens to serious stuff. I can understand the frustration of a disappointed fan, but your stance seems too radical. This coming from a radical/pain-in-the-ass fan like myself.

I agree with Easy, given that everyone in the government is a thief, they could at least make an effort to govern in their spare time. The current government has never had a social and economic policy (2 economic ministers resigning). This isn't the place to discuss it, but I wanted to express my thoughts anyway because it really bothers me to find myself more broke than before while those responsible for everything are living their lives without a care.

Sorry Sfascia, but Expo 2000 is not a piece that just anyone could have made, you know, maybe at home with a PC, in their bedroom. Of course, you might think it’s crap, that’s fair. I like it a lot, especially the Live version. It’s worth mentioning that it’s a commissioned piece; I don’t know how much money they received to compose it (official soundtrack of the Universal Exposition 2000, Expo2000, indeed). Germany decided that they could represent progress and technology, so it’s a real acknowledgment.
Tour de France is an old track (and it shows) reworked along with other ideas to refine a new four-member formation, with the younger Henning Schmitz and Fritz Hilpert coming in to support the lineup, both in the studio and live. The sounds are still the same (they probably resampled them and put them on laptops, definitely more practical and reliable than the old analogs). The attitude, however, has changed, and I’d say thankfully so, because Kraftwerk still has a lot to say.
What do you think of Vitamin, which sounds very modern on the album and is even engaging live with all those filters performed in real-time? I see a lot of electronic music concerts, but the substance is always lacking. Take another one, Electro Kardiogram, it’s a classic: the samples of breath and heartbeat on one side, the old-school keyboard riffs on the other, but also the modern bass lines and essential, penetrating drum sounds, the vocoder always has that vintage touch... Aero dynamik sounds very modern; perhaps you don’t like today’s electronic music. Or maybe you’ve become attached to Kraftwerk’s TechnoPop from the 70s/80s.
