I just want to say that the direction and set design have significantly improved compared to previous years, but the rest is so bad that we don't even notice it. The set design wasn’t bad with that polished black and the Broadway theme, getting rid of the orchestra (but what’s the point anymore?) from behind and down in the pit, ditching the steps that were a pain in the ass, getting rid of the plants on stage that, from a television standpoint, were cutting the singers off at the knees.
What still doesn’t work is five days of sheer boredom, television timing that could make milk flow down to our knees (which had been spared by the flowers) with repeated advertisements. Painful lyrics from the authors, boring hosting, useless guests. But above all, the artistic part that can hardly even be defined as such, which I won’t delve into because those who organize the festival and those who send the artists to sing couldn’t care less. Therefore, the formula of the festival (anachronistic more than ever today in a TV landscape smoothed by MTV’s rhythms) will always remain the same except for small "innovations"; the artists and the songs will always suck more and more. The only thing that won’t change is that we will continue to watch and talk about this useless television event like a bunch of fools, because Sanremo is Sanremo.
