Edible mushroom of medium-small size, its color is golden yellow tending to orange in adult mushrooms and paler in young ones. The cap is irregular along the entire margin, the scent is sweet and fruity, the stem is robust and has a smooth surface. Additionally, underneath the cap, the mushroom features pseudolamellae. These are the main characteristics of Cantharellus cibarius, found in various regions of Italy. Be careful not to confuse it with Clitocybe olearia (poisonous mushroom), which unlike finferli does not grow on the ground but on trees, and with Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca, also known as false chanterelle due to its resemblance. However, the stem of the latter is a darker color.
