Massive Attack Mezzanine
Voto:
A landmark record, perhaps (or rather, without a doubt) the most beautiful by Massive Attack, the review is well-written but says almost nothing about the album; reading it, it seems that for you "Mezzanine" is an electro-wave revival album :|

huge Groove Is In The Heart :D anyway Jordan, grab the fourth from De La if you don’t have it, "Stakes Is High," class of '96, guaranteed classy stuff! ;D
Amon Düül II Phallus Dei

Genius Betty Davis, I would also add Minnie Ripperton, Esther Phillips, and Ann Peebles, along with the soundtracks of Isaac Hayes, Willie Hutch, and Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Les McCann, Jack McDuff, Reuben Wilson, Donald Byrd, the legendary James, the Salsoul Orchestra, the Meters, the New Mastersounds, the O.J.'s... "The game he plays, he plays 4 real, hustlers in time in the ghetto streets, tryna get ooooooooooooooooooooveeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeer!!!!!!!!" long live blaxploitation now and forever.

all we need now are some curses in Armenian subtitled in Slovak and then we're done for
Mercury Rev The Secret Migration

No, in the sense that I find them a bit baroque in the arrangements, sometimes a bit pompous... "Deserter's Songs" is still a masterpiece anyway! ;)

Yes, indeed, when I walk into a record store, I can't help myself; I have to buy something, anything... Latest purchases: The Roots - Illadelph Halflife, Massive Attack - Protection for 10 euros each. This morning, after a night at a friend's place, damn, I just couldn't resist when I saw them lying on the shelves waiting for a new owner :D

Honestly, I find the latest Mercury Rev too pop; I haven't listened to this one, but honestly, they are too pompous (what a term! no comparison to Luzzatto! :D) for my tastes... That said, the review is beautiful, well done Josi! :)

No no no come on, the first 4 by De La are a must have ("3 Feet High And Rising", "De La Soul Is Dead", "Buhloone Mindstate" and "Stakes Is High")! And don't mess with them because they crack me up! :D
