Come on, it's awesome! :D As a fan of blaxploitation and B-movies, I can't help but appreciate the absurd collage of Tarantino, who, besides knowing how to sublime combine images and music as you said, has managed to dig up forgotten '70s soundtracks and create an absurd collage. I give a 5 to the soundtrack, especially for the intent, though I know they’re already published tracks! :))

Come on Nick, it’s super trashy, even the font used for MERCURY REV looks like classy porn like LUCA DAMIANO PRODUCTION! :D

"The first of the three songs is 'Wings Of Pain', a pretty heavy piece; to give you an idea, it's a song in the style of Metallica. After the second chorus, there are two mini-tapping solos. Anyone who wants to listen to it should head to the band's website. We continue with 'Mind Destroier', and as the title suggests, this one is even heavier and includes a solo that's a real standout." I mean, come on, does this sound like a phrase from a reviewer evaluating an album? It's a bit ROUGH as music criticism, don’t you think? :o

Yes, I confirm, born in Naples on 18/08/85, I weighed 4 kilos at birth, quite scary, and when I was little my mom used to tell me that I would only fall asleep if she played one of her John Lennon tapes, otherwise I would scream like an animal! :D When you say "music in the blood"...

The cover, please don’t hold it against me, but it’s the apotheosis of kitsch, stuff for wild trash enthusiasts! :DD

I first saw the video when I was 13 (just as the album was released) and I almost cried :| total gay stuff, but damn, with that video and that track... "Teardrop on the fire, feelin' someone prayin..."

buahahahahah yes I agree on Phase 2, he's a megalomaniac, and honestly I never really cared much about the Zulu Nation or the Infinity Lessons... I have a friend who is obsessed with hip hop as a culture, the 4 elements that are inseparable, Infinity Lessons, and everything else, but in the long run his talks come off as a bit ridiculous... Actually very much so, especially because we are in 2005, not in 1980! Evolution damn it! :D

Beautiful Hal! :) I've never been a big jazz listener; honestly, I prefer jazz-funk from the late '60s to '70s (Bob James, David Axelrod, Jimmy McGriff, Jack McDuff, Donald Byrd, Reuben Wilson, Herby Hancock, Dorothy Ashby, Billy Cobham, to name a few...), but this masterpiece of a review pushes me to listen to the album. And come on, BLUE NOTE is BLUE NOTE! :D Beautiful samples!
