I don't know, for me "Siamese Dream" is a step above. Essential, compact, produced by Butch Vig, practically perfect. With "Mellon Collie...", it seems to me that the SP wanted to take the typical step beyond their reach, attempting the "epic brick wall card" like in The Wall, succeeding in my opinion only partially. Ah, I’ve listened to this album a bit, it's indecent to say the least, the perfect snapshot of a finished artist who has nothing more to say. Sorry to say it, but that's how it is: Corgan, you've done your part, now get out of the way!
