No, I don't understand you, I'm sorry, just as I don't understand anyone who, with a sense of superiority, tries to impose on me some pseudo-universal bullshit. Take care, Mauretto, and take it easy once in a while; maybe if you don't always yell in people's faces, you'll find someone who cares about you.

Of course, I want to compare it to Rock. For me, albums like "The Main Ingredient" by Pete Rock & CL Smooth or "Enter The Wu Tang" by the Wu Tang Clan hold the same historical significance as "The Piper And The Gates Of Dawn" by Pink Floyd, "The Velvet Underground & Nico," or "In The Court Of Crimson King" by King Crimson, no more, no less.

But why do you always want to win? Come on, admit it, it's a field you know absolutely nothing about, and you insist on being right, continuing with your fucking insults and that "I KNOW EVERYTHING" attitude that I can't stand. I've been listening to rap since I was 10, and I still do; I've been hanging out with b-boys and at jams since I was 10, so I don't consider 50 Cent or Flaminio Maphia to be rap, nor do I dress like a baggy pants guy (I'd rather spend my money on other things, maybe to buy records ;-). I don't want to impose a damn thing, nor am I interested in doing so, but at least I try to make those who despise rap understand that in 90% of cases they don't know what 4/4, a break, double cutting, or freestyle are, and therefore they don't have the material to criticize.

"I THINK THAT THE BLUESMEN AND JAZZMEN FEEL ASHAMED THAT OTHER BLACKS HAVE INVENTED A SHITTY GENRE LIKE RAP" <---- Another gem of ignorance: why is black music only Jazz and Blues? Black music is a microcosm that can span from Funk to Soul to Roots Reggae, to Rap, to R&B, to Ska, to Dub... You really know very little, dear Mauretto, so please, avoid rambling on like a certain well-known failed coach would say.

I don't think so, considering there are rap producers like DJ Spinna, J. Rawls, or Pete Rock who sample directly from 70s Jazz, Funk, and Soul (Maceo Parker, Brotha Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff, Reuben Wilson, Donald Byrd, Ronnie Foster, and any artist from the Blue Note catalog). So before spouting your usual judgments, be careful; you might be doing it on topics you don't know a damn thing about ;-)

What’s there to listen to in rap? Does the word FUNK mean nothing to you? Rap is a genre that has its roots in Black music and represents an evolution from it; if for you it’s synonymous with Nelly and porn-like music videos, that’s all the worse: you remain, as usual, ignorant. It’s like considering Slipknot and SOAD as the entirety of metal, when there’s 80% of artists who will never make it onto MTV, and you can only discover them by digging deep and studying the genre. But then, what’s the point of talking to someone like you, a person who thinks they can impose their superiority with a faded uppercase? I don’t think you have the slightest idea or interest in knowing who Roy Ayers, Bob James, Reuben Wilson, Grandmaster Flash, and the old school from the '80s are, nor the East or West Coast, and whoever else you could mention. Keep grazing in your (and your kind's) ignorance. Adios.

A comment from a man who must have listened to a ton of rap records. Kaos, Gruff, Deda, Neffa, Colle Der Fomento, Gente Guasta, Next Diffusion, and La Famiglia will surely be your daily bread along with Cristina D'Avena and the theme song of Mazinga.

I've always hated them, from day one. I only like "Strade Di Città" and a few scattered tracks here and there; already from the second CD they started putting out crap. For me, the downfall began with "Così com'è," though, and the pop-rock-crossover drift is more ridiculous than J. Ax and the interviews with Aelle (where Articolo 31 declare themselves the paladins of Italian rap, only to say today that rap is boring).

I don't know, for me "Tomb Of The Mutilated" remains devastating. Enough with this anti-Metal bigotry, listen to Meshuggah and stop breaking my balls. And this is coming from someone who has "Low-Life" by New Order in the stereo :-))

Damn, it seems like you already told me that in the chat :-)) Anyway, I listened to Zampa's cd on the recommendation of a rap friend, and compared to this immense crap, it's a masterpiece. BURN, STINKY, BURNAAAAAAA (he says it by himself too, clever kid...)
