Miles Davis 'Round About Midnight

I really like Miles' "In A Silent Way" and "On The Corner" as well. What do you think Hal? :-))

Yes Cleo, go for "Faust IV" ;-) I've always found the first one unbearable; I've tried thousands of times to like it, but no luck. The fourth is way more... cool, if you don't mind the term? :-) Cheers!
dEUS 5 questions to Mauro Pawlowski - Antwerp Special
Voto:
Yes, perhaps it's because I see them highly celebrated on the site, a bit like Interpol in the past. Oh, "Worst Case Scenario" remains a beautiful album that combines noise and remarkable orchestrations, which to an inattentive ear may seem incompatible, but already "The Ideal Crash" I like less, even though it's not at all bad. Well, the novelty was brought more by the unusual success of a Belgian group, as our Roman friend trell reminds us, than by their musical innovations. Sorry for the hassle, cheers :-)

Sure, it’s obviously difficult to explain, every single fan could give you different explanations. I, for example, adore Aphex Twin for his visionary approach, the self-celebratory irony, and the videos by Chris Cunningham, but it would be hard for me to provide a universal reason for considering him a "cult" artist. But even in Rock (which I listen to less), look at Sonic Youth for having completely subverted the rules of the genre or My Bloody Valentine (Kevin Shields also collaborated with Primal Scream, another band I admire). As for dEUS, I just can't wrap my head around it... Do they symbolize Belgium, Central Europe? What the hell do I know, help! :D
KoRn See You On The Other Side

For me, they ended with "Follow The Leader."

The expression "transition to real instruments" is verrrrrrry personal anyway ;-)
dEUS 5 questions to Mauro Pawlowski - Antwerp Special

Well, take out the Mogwai and put in the Smashing Pumpkins, Motorpsycho, maybe even the bands of Steve Albini... Seriously, I can't understand what makes these dEUS so special (I still like them, though, eh? :-)

dEUS 5 questions to Mauro Pawlowski - Antwerp Special

Great band dEUS, it's a shame about that Indie-snob attitude which doesn't quite suit me ;-) Can I say something mean? They are talented and skilled as you like, but I don't see them as a cult band to be worshipped; I don't know, I prefer Sonic Youth or Mogwai thousands of times more in the Alternative scene. Are they a bit... Overrated? Saludos, insult me as much as you want :D

Bah, a very illustrative greatest hits, featuring material from four great albums ("Black Celebration," "Music For The Masses," "Violator," "Songs Of Faith And Devotion," "Ultra") that deserve a more in-depth and attentive listening.
