I would say it's way more 70's than 60's, there are some highly sample-worthy arrangements that would make the Black productions of the time envious ;-) Truly an immense album, congratulations on the revival!

I'm not familiar with the album in question, but I particularly appreciate Hancock’s Fusion/Funk period spanning the late '60s and '70s (the time of "Fat Albert Rotunda," "Mwandishi," "Crossings," and "Headhunters," to be clear), or the electronic experiments of "Future Shock" (see "Rock It" with Grandmixer DST ;-). In any case, a really interesting review, well done Symbad :-)

Of course. The official version of "2 Many DJ's" I believe was released under the name Soulwax, but as you say, there are also quite a few unorthodox versions of it, which are just as interesting. The wonders of the internet and P2P ;-)
