Best Italian single, album, and video of 2005. Long live the Riot Maker :-)
Jovanotti Lorenzo 1994

In my opinion, his most successful album. However, "Buon Sangue" also deserves attention.

I would have given "100th Window" a solid 5 if it had been a 5-song EP; I like the second half a bit less. It's still a great album, which I proudly own the original of ;-)

I only know "The Awakening," I'll make sure to catch up. Great artist in any case, and a review that is undoubtedly worthy ;-)

I just read Dante's post: it's incredibly difficult to come up with a Top 3, after ten years of listening, a lot of stuff must have gone through the stereo. But with a gun to my head, I'd say: 1) Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers); 2) Company Flow - Funcrusher Plus; 3) Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein. What do you think, huh? ;-)

You hit the mark, indeed! I also think "Blue Lines" deserves a full 5. However, "Mezzanine" gets a 5+ :-)

True crap, the video for "You Can't Stop The Prophet" is stunning, truly one of the first Rap videos outside the usual schemes of the genre. As for the word "Grezzo," in my opinion, the album in question can undoubtedly be defined as such from the perspective of the sound made by Premo: immediate, powerful, a real gut punch. When it comes to the lyrics, a separate discussion is needed: Jeru undoubtedly moves away from the canonical topics covered by the usual ghetto rappers, but in any case, it seems he perfectly manages to mix "street rot" and "cultural-philosophical background." So what to say: raw at 50% ;-)
