And what about the first three albums by the Roots, "Organix," "Do You Want More?!?" and "Illadelph Halflife"? Or the Digable Planets and, moving more towards Acid-Jazz, Incognito and Brand New Heavies ;-)

Thank you Paolo :-) Now I'll extract some samples as well (studies permitting)

Great the final quote from Club Dogo, really the cherry on top.

Damn, volume 9 has come out too, and I find it very disappointing. Volume 8 is truly remarkable, a very welcome return to the beginnings of the saga, amazing! :-))

Okay Marcio, but there aren't just those 3 you mentioned anyway. By the way, I don't like them at all, except for the first one, Fabri Firba from the Uomini Di Mare period ("Mister Simpatia" I can't stand, sorry).

Or try downloading the RMX ultraclubbettone of "The Quest," you can also find it on the compilation "Future Sounds Of Jazz Vol. 8" ;-))

Ah yes, the Attica Blues, a great band! I have "Test. Don't Test", very nice and refined, balancing between Rap, Nu-Soul, and Electronics. Maybe give it a listen :-)

Another album by Archie Shepp that I feel inclined to suggest is, for example, "The Cry Of My People," released in 1972, very much in line with the previous "Attica Blues." And it’s worth mentioning the RMX of "Blues For Brother George Jackson" by the Japanese Mondo Grosso featured on "Verve: Remixed 2." A little cult ;-)

Honestly, I don't really know Odra; I like Free Jazz to a certain extent. I don't disdain figures like Sun Ra, Pharoah Sanders, Anthony Braxton, and the aforementioned Archie Shepp, but I especially love works that are more blended with Funk, seminal Electronica, and generally anything that came out between the late '60s and the first half of the following decade. Pure Free Jazz like Ornette Coleman eventually bores me a bit :-)

Ah, what I mentioned is Matthew Shipp anyway, what a slip :-) Archie Shepp is the one from "Attica Blues," one of my favorite Black albums.
