You, on the other hand, are raw and rough, Jim. It's a point in your favor, though; I like the novice truckers in oil-stained tank tops and parmigiana.

I wasn’t accusing you; in fact, I was simply considering your case to draw a personal conclusion on who is more likely to enjoy the reppusi ghettusi from Milano & Bolo :-))

Inoki? You know he once came to Naples for a jam, and they ended up booing him? :-) It makes me smile what you say, you know why? Simply for one reason, without resentment: you're undoubtedly a guy who, living well in a nice city in the comfortable center-north province, has never come into contact with "shitty" situations, typical of the big metropolis, and is captivated by the enchanting tales of various pseudo-gangsta Italian rappers. I certainly don’t live the street life, nor do I pretend to be a Neapolitan gangsta, but I just need to accompany a friend who lives in the Quartieri Spagnoli to truly glimpse a hidden and sometimes uncomfortable world, made up of 12-year-old kids with incarcerated fathers, 70-year-old ladies selling smoke and grass "p'apparà a'jurnata", groups on scooters that intimidate the first person who passes by as soon as they realize he doesn’t live "ind'o rione" (sometimes you can tell from the frightened look, which I take on too when I find myself passing through certain corners of my city) and so much more. All things that I believe don’t exist in Arezzo, and I truly hope no one has to see them ;-)

@dexter: Do you think living on the street is just that? Maybe you too have the typical foggy mind of the "MTV generation." I invite you to reflect before generalizing in such a superficial way ;-)

Partially, I cannot help but agree with the good fusillo. What I don't like about characters like the good Marracash, PMC, and the various assorted Milanese rappers are those pompous lyrics and unnecessarily over-the-top attitudes, the fake streetwise emulation of certain "made in USA" stereotypes, which can ultimately seem unintentionally comical to those familiar with the genre (let alone to the uninitiated!). Beyond the difficult situations and precarious living conditions (which always exist in big cities), it seems truly ridiculous to talk about street-life in the ghettos of Bologna (but where are they??) and little bags passed at the corner of via Anfossi in Milan. You can impress the kid from via Montenapoleone who plays at being a b-boy with his father's money, but certainly not with those who genuinely end up living in real ghettos like Scampia and other third-world neighborhoods in southern Italy. So beyond the sound (which is objectively powerful), I can’t help but feel a bit of amusement reading the phrases quoted by the good Dexter, a clichéd and self-congratulatory mix that truly seems to be irrelevant. Excellent storytelling skills, of course, but birthed from a vivid imagination induced by an overdose of MTV and videos :-))

But is there still someone who nervously cares about grades? Tell me it's not true :-)

Great reception for an album with a significant historical-generational impact. "The Guns Of Brixton" in my all-time playlist.

Still that Hip-Hop blending genres, what a horror... I'm not a huge fan of Club Dogo and their Milanese vibes, but I must acknowledge the significant impact of Don Joe’s "premier" productions, truly international in scope. It’s no coincidence that he’s collaborated with a big shot from across the ocean like mister Grand Agent ;-)
