I would say "listens without expecting novelty for 2006"; in 2002 the album was innovative, indeed. Even considering the more groovy and rhythmic side, there are tracks like "Stargazer" and the magnificent "Behind The Shadow" that would still hold their own today, four years later, in any club selection.

Generally speaking, I agree with you; so-called Nu-Jazz has represented more of a fleeting trend than a guideline for the new generations of DJs/producers and musicians. That said, in just over two or three years, there have been some remarkable albums released that, in any case, are still very enjoyable to listen to.

I, on the other hand, end up appreciating it more and more with each listen, dear sfascia. For heaven's sake, far from considering it an essential masterpiece, but I find that it can be widely rated above average. Maybe I'll try to add some samples as well ;-)

I instead found it an excellent book, which, without falling into mere factism, masterfully mixes history and emotions experienced firsthand. Great review ghem, perhaps a bit short, but still encourages purchase. And then you reviewed a new release, it was about time someone did! ;-)

Everything is great, I would raise my overall rating of the album by one point.
