Interesting proposal, worth testing.. In the realm of "Hip-Hop terrorists," we can also remember Rubberoom, who in '99 came out with "Architechnology," an excellent example of intelligent crossover between Hip-Hop and "industrial" sounds, and Techno Animal (one of the many side-projects born from the twisted mind of Justin Broadrick, former guitarist of Napalm Death..!!), who in 2001 received quite a bit of acclaim for their "The Brotherhood Of The Bomb," released through Matador Records..

To rediscover the other remixes of their tracks, you can listen to "Remixed," released in 2005. There are "reinterpretations" by heavyweights like A Guy Called Gerald, Mr. Scruff, Autechre, Andy Votel, MJ Cole, and Kruder & Dorfmeister themselves. It was also reissued in a revised version this year. Ear-licking stuff!! ;-)

There's really little Trip-Hop in this album, aside from all the discussions about the fragility and limitations of the definition itself. The subsequent "Fear Of Fours" is certainly closer to a certain type of "trippy" sound, but to call them epigones of Portishead or representatives of the "Bristol Sound" (which still needs to be well understood what it is..) is a stretch. There is also a beautiful remix of "Transfattyacid," graciously provided by those two gentlemen, Kruder & Dorfmeister, in their "The K&D Sessions." Kudos for the dig-up, in any case.. ;-)

I Looptroop!! Congratulations on the comeback, "Modern Day City Symphony" is one of the most beautiful Rap works released outside the USA in recent years. I don't know this EP, but given that it's from 1997, it should contain some pretty old material. Still cool though! ;-)

The remix of "Stripped" is one of the best things on the entire album.. The best, however, was yet to come.. ;-)

No, quite the opposite.. Aeneas actually hates me for my explicit adoration of "Draft 7.30"!! :D

Look, some things by Autechre don’t seem that difficult to enjoy to me.. Starting right from the masterpiece "Tri Repetae," which, at times, has rhythms that wouldn’t look out of place in a selection of "intelligent" club tracks.. :-)
