Yes, "Out Of Season," right... It's a completely acoustic work, quite distant from the sound of Portishead, as you remember, but it's definitely worth a listen for its immense intensity... A mature album, no doubt about it...

For a while now, Andy Smith (DJ/producer of Portishead) has been touring Europe... I happened to catch one of his fantastic DJ sets right here in Naples, truly amazing... Those who expect something vaguely similar to Portishead are completely caught off guard: he mixes really everything in his selections, from Funk to Soul, passing through Roots Reggae, Ska, Rocksteady, all the way to 50s Jazz and Blues... Spectacular, especially when he throws in some nice scratches and plays with double copies... :D

But does anyone know what happened to Portishead? Years ago it seemed like a new project was on the way. Have they disappeared? To me, they are immense.

In 2002, "Out Of Time," Beth Gibbons’ solo album, was released by Go! Beat, and also under the same label, in 2003, the beautiful debut album by Stephanie McKay was published, entirely produced by Geoff Barrow... Let's stay hopeful.
