Strange that the album which many fans call the first of Pearl Jam's "decline" is the one I prefer... Incompatibility with Rock-thought? Who knows... :-))

One of my favorite Pearl Jam albums (definitely more than "Vitalogy" and "No Code")... A slightly short review, but well written...

I really love the style of his productions in recent years... Very minimal, at times they even nod to the Old School, like in the track with Tame One on "I'll Sleep When You're Dead," or in the Perceptionists' album... God bless him!

I've only listened to a few tracks, and it seems to me that good El-Producto has reached a level of synthesis and concreteness never achieved before... After a full listen, I’ll be able to give a thorough assessment; for now, I can only say that it sounds like a damn great album... Beautiful, damn! :-))

A separate note for "No Protection": it seems to me like an album that adds little or nothing to the original (maybe it's just that I'm not crazy about "pure" Dub...)

Eh, I get it, but if I put the two discs in the CD player, I like "Mezzanine" 10,000 times more than "Protection"... You can make all the sociological arguments you want, but the bottom line is one.... And then, I don’t even entirely agree when you say that the mid-'90s is the most "hot" period of so-called Trip-Hop (very vague definition, by the way, which I don’t particularly like): even the Portishead released their masterpiece, in my opinion, in the years you consider subsequent to the explosion, which I instead believe to be the peak of the genre itself (I’m talking about "Portishead," of course)....

It's not exactly my cup of tea, but his excessively reckless and undisciplined attitude eventually starts to wear me out... It's kind of the same feeling I get when I listen to the late Ol' Dirty Bastard (even though "Brooklyn Zoo" is really the sh*t! :D)
