Yes, I would say it’s a strong limitation... And forgive me, it’s not a matter of resentment from those who have lived among breakers, writers, and rap battles against those who don’t even know what all this means. The issue is that, just as I have broadened my mind and learned to appreciate genres far from my own, so should others do towards hip-hop, but unfortunately, prejudices still reign, even now that hip-hop is in strong decline and has completed its evolution. Of course, there’s the risk that, as in metal, some things remain too niche, but I assure you that there are cross-genre artists who can be appreciated just fine by those who don’t usually listen to hip-hop (see El-P, who collaborates with Mars Volta and Trent Reznor). However, reducing it to baggy pants and underwear outside truly means not knowing anything and being mentally limited. Forgive me for the length of the message, I was (not) intentionally overflowing...
