A transitional album between the dazzling debut of the first record and the abandonment of psychedelic rock in favor of a pop rock, entirely focused on an impactful easy listening. In this album, this change is still far off, yet it is equally distant from the brilliance of the debut... you say Jugband Blues has cheerful tones? Well, it’s one of the saddest songs ever composed... I liked the review anyway!

It's true, Josi, the Cocorosie formula is more captivating, but it's just a superficial feeling. Devendra's songs have something more, qualitatively speaking. In any case, both Cocorosie and Devendra have talent, but the music they make is at least a century old, and there are people who are still much better than them at making it.
