one of Beck's best. one of the best of the year.

a matter of viewpoints. in my opinion, "it's all over now baby blue" by bob dylan is one of the most psychedelic songs ever written. Perhaps I, in addition to the sounds, place a lot of importance on the lyrics, the execution, the melodies—in short, everything that can create that spirited, unreal, surreal, mind-blowing atmosphere typical of psychedelia, and in this, I believe Julian Cope is a kind of master. Have you ever listened to albums like "Skellington," "Skellington 2," "Droolian"? These albums are children of Barrett and Erickson, offspring of that kind of psychedelia, just like "Hitchcock" is. Then there's the type of psychedelia you mention, the more refined and less cerebral variety, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that the Teardrop Explodes and Julian Cope are psychedelic. P.S. "Jehovakill," the album that followed "Peggy Suicide," was reissued this year and, in my opinion, it’s even better—a true masterpiece that marked the break with Island for its anti-religious thematic content.

Psychopomps jokes? The Terdrop Explodes are one of the most psychedelic bands in history; in their concerts, certain songs like "Sleeping Gas" would stretch to twenty minutes while the members of the bands, led by the madman Julian, were in the throes of acid trips. Remember that psychedelia is not a genre, but an attitude, as Robyn Hitchcock says, and as taught by the 13th Floor Elevators (not surprisingly Julian Cope's favorite band), Alexandre 'Skip' Spence among others.

It's not a masterpiece, but it's definitely one of the best albums of the year, and this isn't just a fan's opinion, since this album has been acclaimed by 90% of the indie-rock critics... then it's a matter of taste, but objectively, there's not much better out there.

First of all, I find the term outrageous to be inadequate... then I'm certainly not an art critic; I simply expressed my opinion on an album that has been celebrated as a masterpiece, but that personally disappointed me a bit... that's all, this doesn’t mean that the album isn’t enjoyable to listen to, on the contrary... however, it’s not all that groundbreaking... in short, in my opinion, there's more craftsmanship behind these songs than inspiration... but I repeat, it's just the opinion of a listener who knows all of Vinicio's albums; I don't see anything outrageous in the fact that everyone can have different feelings and opinions. Of course, it’s still a good album, but only the deaf could deny that Waits is much more than an inspiration for Vinicio (see the song about the Colosseum), not just in sounds but also in themes.

Among all the beautiful discography of Cave, this is the one album that you absolutely must not have. It has a truly horrible sound that doesn't reflect what the band really was in their live performances.

It's a scandal that this album has such a low rating. It's a challenging album, but with each listen, it becomes more beautiful. I was a bit disappointed at first too, but after setting it aside for about a year, it resurfaced brighter than ever.

What a beautiful review, convincing and valuable.

Yes, I watched Dillon's film and I liked it a lot; it captures the same sick atmospheres present in Gifford's novels. Especially given the setting, it reminded me of his novel Port Tropique.
