There's a review I've recently seen about Ice Cube where the user @[Don_Pollo] perfectly expresses what I think about ratings: "Music is art, not a school essay."

Jargon, listen to SxM and then we'll talk about it again. But honestly, I don’t care about ratings; I listen to an album and if it strikes me as a five-star work (which doesn’t have to be just a classic five-star music piece), well, damn it, I rate it five stars! But who’s to say this won’t leave a lasting impression? In the '60s, the Beatles were seen as just another boy band like One Direction today. A boy band for teenage girls. Over time, they’ve been increasingly reevaluated, just like Zappa, King Crimson, even "classics" like Hector Berlioz (who was vastly underrated back then) or Wagner. The same goes for rap, which in the '80s was mostly party music; in the '90s, thanks to artists like Nas, 2Pac, Wu-Tang, our own Sangue Misto, etc., it was widely reevaluated. Enough with these fucking prejudices already...

Surprisingly, I liked Elton. I was afraid of a lot of rhetoric, but instead he did what he was supposed to do: play!
