I was completely unaware, and the reading was very interesting.

I had missed this... I watched the latest videos on YouTube and (besides the fact that she's never looked so beautiful <3) they are so cool that I would become a Sinhalese guerrilla fighter tomorrow if they asked me to.

Beautiful review for an immense album. Perhaps truly THE masterpiece of Frank. After the jazz period, it always seemed to me that he had a tendency to separate the avant-garde cultured part from the jazz-rock-pop stuff. Here, with those crazies from the Mothers, I think he found his best balance. So much to learn with Frank.

The things that are criticized about this album as terrible might only be criticized because it’s about Dylan.
This album is quite insignificant, but I wouldn't define it as embarrassing, come on.
Dylan knows how to do the country voice (listen to the reinterpretation with Cash in Nashville Skyline of Girl From the Northern County or Lay Lady Lay)... the sappy stuff he included doesn’t bother me that much. Dylan is also this.
It’s understood that this album is only for completists and this particular period of Dylan is certainly not what made him great. However, for someone like me who has been loving his music more and more over the years, these albums (from Nashville to New Morning) with their imperfections and the search for something different are a nice listen every once in a while.

Well, let's say I wasn't 5 years old when Linkin Park were around... luckily I missed the DB + LP combo :D
But hey, utmost respect for DB (more than for LP).

Well, you must be very young (I hope) and reading this account makes me feel a bit sentimental. Then I think that last week I met an amazing girl who also participated in the event, and so GO LINKIN PARK :D I pull out Hybrid Theory and Enema of the State and go back to being 15 again.

oh how wonderful, finally a review where I can vomit all my hatred and seem like a bitter, grumpy old man

electronics, sampling, and synthesizers: it seems a bit excessive to describe this album starting from here. An album that, when listened to at the time, I can't imagine how it might have sounded, but listening to it today, the first thing that comes to mind is "classic."
A beautiful record, especially in certain more mystical moments like The Angel...beautiful voice but too trained for my taste.
Of the forgotten singer-songwriters of the era, for me the best remains Judy Sill.
