well, I had already decided to keep my distance from this and you've convinced me.
Regarding the updating of the character, it makes sense and it doesn't at the same time.
In the comic, it was super tied to the years when it was released (there were Cure lyrics everywhere if I remember correctly) and that’s also its magic (I wasn’t really around in the 80s, so it was basically old stuff but at the same time fascinating).
But precisely because it was so linked to that era, it makes sense for the character in the remake to be as well... too bad that this era has a different weltanschauung that, in my opinion, doesn't shift much with the character (not as romantically depressed as certain 80s goths, not as romantically pissed off as the thirty-somethings) or at least that’s how I perceive it now that I'm an oldie.
