I read comics rarely, but Cattivik is extraordinary. About ten collections featuring the most unlucky delinquent in history were released until the early 2000s. I believe this is one of the first ones, from '92 or '93. I recently found a gem, a 100-page color edition, at the comic fair in Mantova: "Pera meccanica," a title inspired by the Kubrick film.

Sorry, I correct myself VITOLS4, I read your nickname wrongly.

Thank you for the insight, VILTOS4. I actually don’t talk much about the melodies because the tracks are almost all quite "POP-like" and homogeneous. If you noticed in the review of "Robinson" that I did last week, I highlighted the musical structure better. It deserved more consideration because it was more varied.

Considering that "Stagioni" was released at the beginning of 2000, thus conceived in '99, "Ritratti" is unfortunately the only work produced in the decade 2000-09. Guccini permeated by laziness and perhaps apathetic fatigue? Who knows... The fact remains that this album truly deserves recognition, in every way. Comparable to "D'amore, di morte..." overwhelming in some pieces, when after more than 20 years the theme of travel returns.

The review begins by employing enticing terminology but a description of the tracks????? Sumptuous "Addio" from decadent romanticism, "Stagioni" dedicated to '68, and "Don Chisciotte," a blatant depiction of the eternal war against power paying homage to the bizarre Spanish knight-errant. The 3 "seasonal" tracks are melancholic just enough. "Ho ancora la forza" pretentious Ligaboiata.

The most inspired Guccini of the 90s. At times subtle, at times sharp. Varied, in short. Always excellent arrangements. The album deserves a 4.5, but it's promoted with top marks.

'These rece..., sometimes I lose track of the vote. Excellent

Sufficiently better than "What Doesn't..." but not reaching "Of Love, Death, and Other Nonsense." It's a 4 minus. The album starts off lively and in the end tends to collapse in on itself. Great arrangements. Not among the best.
Voto:
The reception, however, deserves it.

I’ll go against the tide, but I haven’t really digested this album. In 1990, Guccini was approaching his 50s. I think he got caught up here in a sense of discouragement stemming from a time of reckoning, of regrets, of things not done, of wrong turns, of boredom with “surreal reality,” akin to “Stanze di vita quotidiana” from 1974. An almost nihilistic introspection. Sorry, maybe it’s just that I didn’t understand much of it.
