I would love to see them tackle a reunion!

4.5... among their best, in my opinion, alongside Houdini and Stoner Witch...

4.5...together with Houdini, I believe these are my favorites by the Melvins...the early ones (Gluey, Ozma, Bullhead, Eggnog EP...) and also Lysol I only like in parts...I find them too monotonous and compositionally "poor," even though they are interesting overall.

I still don't have the album, but I was able to enjoy 10 minutes of their live performance at the No Fest in Turin... they really blew me away... not bad at all!
Pearl Jam Unplugged

Vedder's voice is the winning ace of the group. However, the unplugged session is not a masterpiece... a 3.5, nothing more... the acoustic reinterpretation of hard-rock pieces feels forced... much better to keep it.

In my opinion, this and the next "infrared riding..." are their two best works...violent, yes, but also with greater compositional variety and a raw sound that's more polished. Great TAD.

The early Melvins leave me puzzled: I love their sound, Crover's drumming, and the vocal style... but I still maintain that they lack in compositional depth... the tracks are monochord, there's not a shred of "musical" vocal line (I’m not expecting melody, of course) as can be found in their later albums like Houdini, where I believe they mix their heavier side with greater compositional variety. They are, however, great. No doubt about that.
Pearl Jam Binaural

Beautiful... there are some fillers, but overall maybe the best of the "post 1996" period.

their best album alongside Vitalogy and Vs, but I also like the others... and grunge isn't a genre, just a damn label... putting AIC and Nirvana in the same genre is clearly a stretch. While there were common denominators among the bands from the Seattle scene, especially in terms of attitude, this is undeniable; but to talk about grunge as a true genre is completely inappropriate. It's the music critics (often half-hearted ones) and the media that create "movements" and genres to sell records and gadgets...
